THIS SIMFILE WAS MADE ON A VISTA PC... :(:( Quick Description: Well, simply put, this song is rather generic. I normally wouldn't go for something like this, but something in it just captivated me, so here I am, having made a full file for everyone to enjoy. I probably shouldn't include a lyric file, but I may in the end. I almost gave up on this file a few times throughout the course of it's creation, first because I just couldn't seem to make anything flow, later for dumb reasons like I was tired of hearing the song, and even because I wanted to step something else. Please prove my thoughts on the last one wrong by voting for this to win or something, I don't want to feel like I wasted all my time and effort on nothing. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ STEPS: SINGLE: Beginner - 1 foot (112 steps, 5 jumps, 0 freeze arrows, 117 Max Combo) Basic. I originally made a 2 for this, but I felt that if I just reworked a few areas around a bit, I could make a rather tempting 1 footer out of it. I was correct. Light - 4 feet (155 steps, 7 jumps, 17 freeze arrows, 162 Max Combo) This was the last chart I made out of all the singles charts. I would have created this before the beginner chart, however, I had a difficult time being creative with it. I knew I wanted to make it a 4 footer, and I wanted to have some 8th notes in the song, I just couldn't get any part of it to work and feel, well, correct. In the end though, I felt it could have been given a rating of 3, but it has a run of 4th notes with jumps in it, not to mention the slowdown with it's 8ths. Even now, I can't help but think this is a 3, not a 4, but I can't do anything about it. I blame the creation of the doubles light. Standard - 6 feet (252 steps, 6 jumps,11 freeze arrows, 258 Max Combo) I made this well before I started work on the heavy. I had a hard time deciding if it should be a 7 though, the high number of 16ths, with the addition of the slowdown made it difficult for me to decide. In the end I went for a 6 footer, because I just cannot justify giving this a 7, no matter how technical and troublesome the chart is. Heavy - 8 feet (361 steps, 41 jumps, 19 freeze arrows, 402 Max Combo) I really can't come up with a good commentary on this, I apologize. I tried to go for as many seperate elements as I could with this, and it ended up looking and feeling pretty decent. My only real concern is that it may seem repetitive to you, the viewers. Watch out for the complex crossovers, steps that don't seem to go with anything (until you realize the bass kicked in for just a couple notes), and the slew of jumps that come out of nowhere. Add all that in with freeze arrows, 32nd notes, gallops, and a slowdown, and I think you may have this chart. I had a hard time deciding what to rate this one as well, I feel it's not hard enought to be a 9, but it's just so overly complex. DOUBLE: Light - 3 feet (126 steps, 1 jump, 16 freeze arrows, 127 Max Combo) I kinda used the light chart from singles to do this, but at the same time, I didn't. Try and make sense of that, I dare you. It uses the same patterns as singles, however, it no longer has as many jumps, steps, and even 8ths, but I think it makes more sense this way. I'm crazy. Anyways, I almost rated this a 2 instead, but it still has a couple 8ths, and it's almost a no-no to put 8ths in even a 3. It's 2, and they are easy to hit. I bet I'm going to have a moral dilemna for rating this a 3 though in the end. Standard - 6 feet (232 steps, 3 jumps, 7 freeze arrows, 235 Max Combo) Final Chart. I'm not going to lie, I truly half-assed it too. At this point, I was tired of listening to this song, and I just wanted to finish the damn sim. I believe this is good enough, and that's all that matters. This chart is kind of like singles, but as usual, has less arrows, and has a bit simpler of a pattern. Heavy - 8 feet (343 steps, 26 jumps, 6 freeze arrows, 369 Max Combo) Yeah, I really REALLY made the doubles easier. not as difficult to read, more streams of 8ths, less jumps. The whole shibang. However, I believe I made a couple of minorly difficult crossovers in the middle of it all, so you will at least have something to look forwards to. The part I feel that I did the best at was the part at the end where I had almost all the freeze arrows in the song, where I went rather minimalistic with the chart, Mostly going with the Bass. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ GRAPHICS: While trying to capture the movement of a song titled "Time to Move", I began doodling on a piece of paper with a blue marker. It was at this point that I decided a majority of the graphics had to be vector. I'm not particularly experienced with vector graphics, so most of my time was spent experimenting instead of actually creating something. Thankfully, the result wasn't too bad, and I learned a thing or two in the process. With the basic structure laid out, the major decision at that point was what kind of color scheme to use. Usually I end up using analogous colors, but this time I managed to find harmony with more variety. If you know a little bit about color theory, then these graphics present a basic split complementary scheme. Sometimes even the most elementary colors can still be pleasing to the eye. I'm worried that I might have made things too vibrant for such a dark song, but there is no turning back now. The simplicity of these graphics is also one of its best characteristics. I have a tendency to overwork things to the point where it becomes a complete mess. I had to remove many superfluous details that I originally included. They were ruining the unity of the images, and like they say, less is more. I am more pleased with these graphics than most I've made in the past, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. This song is full of motion and a subtle energy, and my goal was to capture these elements of the music. Feel the beat and let the visuals entrance you. It's Time to Move. WOOHOO BEST MIX.
